Standing Guitar Positions

Stand While You Play Guitar

Standing is perhaps a little easier than sitting some might find. Pick up the guitar as always. After all, you cannot play the guitar unless you are holding it. Adjust the strap of it so it is positioned around the midsection of your body. Use your left hand to support the neck of the guitar.

For standing guitar positions, you are going to want a strap that is attached pretty well to both of the pins on the guitar. You could also tie it if you really wanted to. You are going to want to check yourself out in a mirror as well, to see how you look of course. You are probably going to need to adjust the strap to get the guitar to feel as comfortable as possible. There is nothing worse than an uncomfortable piece of weight around your shoulder.

So you are all set with getting adjusted. Great, now it is time to start playing those tunes. So your jamming along and all of a sudden, your strap comes undone. My friends, make sure the strap you are using fits the pins of your guitar. You do not want to use a homemade strap that your grandmother knitted for you. Guitars will and do get damaged when gravity brings them to the floor. Make sure the strap is secure. That's pretty much all you need to know about standing guitar positions. Just make sure to, that you rest your right hand over the bridge of the guitar itself. Do not try to overemphasize anything, keep it natural. Major Guitar Scales >>
