Electric Guitars
How to Play Electric Guitar
Well now you have learned the basics of the guitar. How do electric guitars differ from their acoustic counterparts? An electric guitar uses electronics to create the noise it makes. It converts vibrations into an electric current which can then be relayed to an amp to produce a loud sound or song. You can alter the sound by using distortion effects, pedals, amps, and so forth.
Electric guitars are used a lot in the rock scene, although they are also used in many music genres. Jazz uses this guitar quite a bit, as well as pop music. A lot of people associate electric guitars with famous guitar players such as Jimi Hendrix. While he did use an electric guitar, there are also many other avenues this instrument has seen. There are different types of this guitar as well.
One of my cousins owned a steel string guitar. Have you heard of this? These steel strings are sometimes considered to be an electric guitar as well. Steel guitars can fitted with pickups and/or a microphone. The signals are either converted or used with an equalizer to produce to the sound. This type of guitar is an electric acoustic guitar. Other type of guitars include the hollow and solid body.
The hollow body electric guitar has no sound hole on it. How is the music produced on this instrument then? Well, when you play, the sound builds up inside of the hollow body then is passed onto the connected amp. The amp then turns the vibration into music. That is how this device works in a nutshell. On the other side of this, we have the solid body guitar. The solid body guitar also has no sound hole. In order to hear the sound from these you need to have an amp connected to them. They are normally made with six steel strings.
